International IT services company Columbus has launched Columbus eCommerce, a SaaS ecommerce solution for B2B and B2C organizations. Using prebuilt templates, companies can make a new ecommerce website using Columbus’ solution, which integrates with Microsoft Dynamics 365. The software is focused on B2B retailers, but also offers built-in B2C functionality.

Columbus eCommerce enables business with retail distribution networks to set up a dynamic and mobile-enabled online marketplace. Customers can search for stock and place orders via PC, tablet or smartphone under existing company contractual agreements, so according to Columbus it’s ideal for organizations with a B2B presence. The software also offers prebuilt B2C functionality, which allows B2B businesses to extend their current operations to cater for B2C customers.
Expand the B2B and B2C capabilities with plugins
The ecommerce solution, available for a single, fixed monthly fee, can be scaled by installing plugins that expand the B2B and B2C capabilities. “Our ecommerce solution combines rich B2B functionalities such as integration to data analytics with a customer-focused design that’s ideal for B2C too”, says Mark Bennigsen, Service Delivery Director at Columbus UK. “Due to its plug-in-based architecture, it takes almost half the time usually required to implement and customize an ecommerce website.”
Columbus is a Danish company, founded in 1989 by Michael Gaardboe. The company develops and sells several software solutions, such as ERP and CRM software. It’s present in 18 countries across the world.
